Ordering wholesale fabric from TkanIstanbul: catalogue, quotes, shipping
This page explains how an order for fabrics from our catalog works. For products outside the catalog and contract manufacturing, see the sourcing from Türkiye page.
1. Sign-up
Prices are visible to members. When you sign up you choose your country first; it sets the site language and your price group. Once your application is approved you see catalog prices in your currency: Turkish lira, US dollars or euros.
2. Digital catalogue and samples
We send the digital catalogue straight away on WhatsApp or Telegram; the "Request catalogue" button on each series page is for this. Physical samples are not sent for every request; they go to buyers we are discussing a specific order with. Colours can look different on screen, so mention it in the discussion when colour matters.
3. Quote
Add the colours and quantities you need to your quote list and send it. We prepare the quote the same day and it is valid for 3 days. It shows unit price, quantity, total and stock status, and we can also send a pro forma with photos.
4. Sales by the roll and minimum order
We sell wholesale only, in full rolls; we do not cut fabric by the metre. Roll length depends on the series; for example, Selonya poplin in our catalog comes in 30 m rolls. Within Türkiye there is no lower limit, and a single roll can be ordered. For export orders, the minimum is the smallest load accepted by the freight company carrying the goods to the buyer's country. Minimums for custom colours, prints or contract manufacturing are stated in the quote.
5. Shipping
Stock items are ready to ship within 24 hours of the order and are dispatched as soon as payment is received. Within Türkiye we ship by courier or freight carrier; abroad by courier, groupage or container. Delivery terms (EXW, FOB, etc.) and transit time are stated separately in the quote.
Common mistakes
- Ordering by name only: poplin and ranforce can mean different fabrics at different suppliers. Give the width, weight and composition too.
- Choosing colours from a screenshot: say so when you ask for a quote if colour matters.
- Leaving no allowance: add extra metres for cutting and sewing.
