What is duck fabric and what is it used for?
Duck (also called duck canvas) is a dense, heavy, tightly woven fabric made of cotton or a cotton-polyester blend; the duck in our catalog is 65% cotton, 35% polyester. In home textiles it is used where durability matters: tablecloths, curtains and cushions.

Why a cotton-polyester blend
Cotton gives a natural hand feel and absorbs moisture. Polyester reduces creasing and shrinkage in the wash and helps the fabric dry faster. A 65/35 blend balances the two.
Uses
- Tablecloths and table runners
- Curtains and drapes
- Cushions, cushion covers and pillowcases
- Bags, aprons and baskets
When ordering
For digitally printed duck, ask for the pattern repeat size and whether the print covers the whole fabric or is placed in panels. If you make tablecloths, ask for a stain-resistant or water-repellent finish in writing in the quote.
